AMPRGW is amprgw.ucsd.edu, at IP address 169.228.34.84. It is the Internet-to-AMPRNet router.

When initially configuring a local IPENCAP gateway, or when rebooting a gateway, traffic to and from the public internet may be unavailable and/or throttled for up to one hour if AMPRGW detects errors related to the gateway being down.

Additionally, traffic to the public internet will not be passed across the AMPRGW unless it originates from a ARMPNet IP address that has a DNS "A" record in the ampr.org domain.
