Claim Your Amateur Callsign Subdomain
This guide explains how to request a callsign-based subdomain under ampr.org (for example, ki5qkx.ampr.org).
Requirements
- You must have a verified amateur radio callsign in the Portal.
- Callsign-based subdomains are automatically approved once the callsign is verified.
- Non-callsign subdomains can be requested, but they require manual review and are rarely approved without strong justification.
Verify Your Callsign
- Sign in to the Portal.
- Go to Account → Call signs.
- Click Verify next to your callsign.
- If there is no Verify button, that callsign is already verified.
Request the Subdomain
- Go to DNS → My subdomains.
- Click Request a subdomain.
- Select ampr.org as the domain.
- Enter your subdomain (usually your callsign, without .ampr.org). Example: ki5qkx.
- Submit the request.
What Happens Next
- If the subdomain matches one of your verified callsigns, it is approved and assigned to you automatically.
- If it does not match a verified callsign, a ticket is created and a staff review is required.
Tip
If you are planning to add multiple DNS records, request a subdomain rather than claiming a single DNS record. Subdomains let you manage all records under your namespace.
