AMPR.ORG is the domain that is available for ham radio operators to register their AMPRNet network hosts, and for other ham radio related computer systems.

Sub-domain names under AMPR.ORG are available to any licensed amateur radio operator who is interested in advancing the art of amateur radio digital communications. The first step in obtaining your own sub-domain under AMPR.ORG is to register on the Portal

AMPR.ORG and AMPRNet is administered by Amateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC) a not-for-profit organisation

Note that an IP address must be associated with a domain name in AMPR.ORG in order for the main gateway at UCSD to pass packets to it.
